Well it is Sunday night and I feel somewhat exhausted. This past week has been hectic to say the least. I had gastro last weekend which was foul. At first I thought the morning sickness was back and believe it or not I was actually relived when I realized it was gastro instead! I was just a bit worried about having a fever, but fortunately that didn’t last long. My whole family has been down with either gastro or flu and my poor mother was in bed for quite a few days – something she hardly ever does. At one stage my dad, (after making supper on his own in a deadly silent house), proclaimed the house was like a “bloody hospital”! Craig and I even slept in different rooms, so as to not “re-contaminate” each other. Anyway, touch wood everyone is much better now.
I then spent most of the week doing an assignment for psychotherapy, involving a significant amount of research, which had me pulling my hair out. That went in on Thursday and from Thursday on, I focused on my Reiki advanced course that I was teaching this weekend. All went well with that and today I spent the day studying for a child psychology exam that I write tomorrow night. In between I try and remember to breathe!
On a baby note, the jury is still out on the name and probably will be for some time. Much to my delight Craig is actually liking and considering “India”, one of my favorites that I never previously bothered to suggest as I thought it would get shot down in a blaze of fire. Unfortunately barring a few friends, my parents and most other people think the name is ridiculous. My brother said “don’t worry, most people who know you will understand, as they know you are nutty anyway”….hmmn was that supposed to be a compliment? I also had Steven (my friend veronica’s husband) saying “but she isn’t giving birth to a landmass!!” J True, but still I think it is a pretty name, a spiritual name and the name of a place I love. Plus at least there won’t be 20 Indias in her class at school…
As far as the pregnancy goes….
I will now be in week 19! The only symptoms I really have now are the very frequent need for the loo, and an expanding belly. I am unfortunately already finding sleeping a problem and have heard this will only get worse. Apart form going to the loo on average 6 times a night (irrespective of fluid intake!), I generally find it very uncomfortable to sleep on my side and am tossing and turning all night. I usually wake up around 3am and lie there with my mind racing, until about 6.30. I then fall asleep for about an hour or so, before I have to wake up, making me feel exhausted in the morning. I have also developed a pain in my left thigh and am still trying to figure out if it is a muscle cramp or sciatica. Either way I know it is caused by sleeping on my side! I think yoga is needed and I must try and be more disciplined with my routine again. I was doing well with a 30minute session I created for myself, until I fell ill with flu about a month ago. Since then I have been either sick or lazy, and so the yoga has taken a back seat, but I think it is now time to change all that.
As far as the baby goes….
It is definately confirmed…I can feel her moving. The sensation I felt 2 weeks ago has increased in frequency and strength and is definitely not wind! Yay. It is amazing to experience but I just wish I could share it with other people. Craig is so dying to feel her move or hear her heartbeat. He has even considered going out and buying a stethoscope!

I am sorry to hear you hve all been so ill. I hope everyone is on the mend.
There is nothing like feeling your baby move inside of you. I know its selfish but I loved that only I could feel her. It was like we had this bond. I would move my hand around my tummy and she seemed to follow.
God I laughed about the landmass. Stevie , it certainly feels that way at the time!!
i cant believe India is being considered I absolutely love it. Its so lovely.

the question is – do we ever listen to ANYTHING steven says??? NO!! As we all know by now and Wendy can back me up, he will make a comment on any name you choose so best to just ignore him…!! anyway, here’s hoping for india….

Sorry to hear you have all had gastro – it is a nasty bug, glad to hear you are better now though!
I actually really like India. I think it sounds cute with Avnit, and is a very pretty name.
Enjoy feeling the baby move
It is such an amazing time. Don’t worry, Craig will soon be woken up with the baby kicking him in the back – lol.
Try sleeping with a pillow in between your legs / knees. It helps….

I think India is a lovely name. Even better you can’t play with it too much to come up with silly words. And… if you have another kid and it’s a boy you can always call him Paki-Stan
