Today has been a good day so far with an amazing 0 toilet visits. Let’s hope this morning sickness is on its way out. My appetite also seems to have increased, or at least I have gone from pretty much not having an appetite at all, to being hungry a good deal of the time. My thoughts seem to be dominated by food. Every moment presents a new challenge – what can I stomach now? What should I avoid? I never really know until that exact moment. I have eaten some pretty weird things lately. I had a hotdog the other day at a friend’s house and a salami roll yesterday ( I know, it shocked me as well….my bad karma points are stacking up!) and the other night I had a bowl of baked beans and a bowl of fruit-salad for dinner. My husband just watches on with amusement. The problem about food at the moment though, is that as soon as I eat or drink a particular thing, I go off it for quite some time, so I am slowly eliminating most foods from my list of “can eat”. What is also strange is that I have gone off all the things I used to love eating, like prawns (ok, I know you shouldn’t eat shellfish anyway), and calamari. I can’t stomach anything fried and roast potatoes just send me running. I can’t drink water at all, unless it has been placed in fruit juice and milk tastes ok one moment and not the next. There is no logic to these cravings and aversions, each day prsensts a new challenge on this nutrition obstacle course. And to top it all off, I just discovered I shouldn’t be eating any nuts as they can cause food allergies in my child….hmmn…just when I thought peanut butter on toast was a safe option!
Food, glorious food

Hello Caroline!!
I am trying AGAIN to leave a comment, hmmm….
I am pleased to hear that you are feeling better and almost out of the first trimester!
It is funny but every book you read / sight you visit and person you speak to will tell you something totally different about what you can and can’t eat
I am totally off pumpkin, sweet potatoe, carrots and anything orange! Think this is due to the first trimester being around Thanksgiving time over here!Don’t even go there with turkey….
The trip to Langebaan sounds amazing!
I have not been there for years, your post brought back some memories. Although the seal story was frightening!
Oh, did Ronnie say it was a boy? Or is it still too soon to know? Does the bean have attachments already?????
Have a great one and give my love to the proud dad to be!!
